The fourth edition of the Design and Verification Conference & Exhibition Europe (DVCon Europe) is approaching at a high speed. This industry-driven conference will bring together practitioners from different companies and fields, design automation tool users and vendors, senior experts and freshmen, locals and foreigners alike. This year's DVCon will take place in downtown Munich on October 16th and 17th, 2017. On offer are two exciting days filled with tutorials, panels, keynotes, technical presentations, and an exhibition (with extended exhibit hours and a reception on the exhibit floor).

DVCon Europe was initiated by Accellera Systems Initiative in 2014 as the premier conference, providing a European perspective on Electronic Design Automation (EDA) standards, languages and methodologies for the design and verification of electronic systems and integrated circuits. It is a sister conference of DVCon US (since 1988), India (2014), and China (2017). The conference has been a huge success since its launch, with significant year-over-year attendance growth.

While it may sound like a hollow phrase at first sight, DVCon really is designed by engineers for engineers. From my DVCon Europe experience in the past, I can tell that this is more than just a phrase. In my previous functions as member of the technical program committee and technical topic chair, I had the chance to discuss and network with many well-known experts in their fields. Each of these experts with different backgrounds provided special knowledge based on work in a different field or company. Each of them helped to shape an interesting and diversified program.

What's currently happening behind the scenes? The technical program committee is reviewing and rating all the submitted papers; From the provided submissions we can see that the "V" in DVCon will again play the major role, with many papers covering verification topics related to the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM), formal approaches, virtual prototyping, low-power verification, register modeling, and so on. Moreover, the steering committee has started evaluating the submitted proposals for panels and tutorials. Last, but not least, two keynotes to be given by industry leaders have already been confirmed; stay tuned for details to be published soon.

Given this year’s exciting program, do not miss out on DVCon Europe 2017. Hotel reservations just opened, so reserve your spot close to the heartbeat of the conference. Looking forward to meeting you in Munich!
