On October 31, we celebrate Halloween but even more importantly the SystemC community meets again to interact at the 4th edition of the SystemC Evolution Day. The SystemC Evolution Day follows the day after DVCon Europe, and offers a unique opportunity to exchange, learn from peers in the industry and contribute to the evolution of the SystemC standard. If you are a system-level modeling enthusiast, expert or beginner – this the place to be!

The organization team has announced a full-day program, covering a wide range of industry-relevant topics contributed by different user companies. The result is a packed agenda organized along three different sessions with focus areas of simulation technology, transaction-level modeling, and model creation.

The SystemC Evolution Day will start with the regular Accellera standardization update highlighting the developments in the various SystemC Working Groups. After this, the opening talk will explore the integration opportunities and challenges of the SystemC and Digital Twin eco system. The “Digital Twin” as an emerging methodology to better specify, design and test complex products and systems-of-systems, which raises questions like: Is the SystemC language ready to model a complete product or systems-of-systems? Is it feasible to integrate a SystemC eco-system with a Digital Twin ecosystem? Does it actually make sense to combine the SystemC and Digital Twin worlds?

The first focus session addresses simulation and kernel technology, covering topics such as parallel SystemC simulation, synchronization of multiple simulators and improvements for tracing. The second session will discuss model interoperability and transaction level modeling (TLM), proposing a TLM modeling library, TLM extensions for buses, generic payload, and clocks interfaces. The third focus session will cover model creation, high-level synthesis and model metrics, with presentations on model introspection, advanced assertion checking, and metrics to assess model correctness and completeness.

As known from the previous years, the SystemC Evolution Day is meant as an interactive event with plenty of room for discussions and exchange of ideas to influence future directions of the SystemC standards. You are invited to participate in this event and join the SystemC community!

Registration is open (follow DVCon Europe registration page). More formation on the technical program can be found on the Accellera SystemC Evolution Day website.

Looking forward to meeting you in person, October 31, 2019 at the Holiday Inn Munich City Centre Hotel for the next Accellera SystemC Evolution Day and also DVCon Europe on October 29-30!
