By Mark Burton, General Chair, and Jakob Engblom, Vice Conference Chair
The conference chairs welcome you to this year’s edition of DVCon Europe! We have a great conference planned and hope that you will be able to join us and enjoy it just as much as we will!
Since AI is on everyone’s mind these days, we asked an AI to draw a picture of the two chairs of DVCon Europe 2024. I think it might have been slightly creative in interpreting the request – or perhaps it was hallucinating. Anyway, that is Mark and Jakob, according to AI. Who’s who is up to you!
For the participants at the conference, it will be a few intense days. For us in the steering committee, the conference is the final sprint in a year-long marathon that began right after the 2023 conference ended. And we’ve already started thinking about 2025!
The program of the conference is finally set, and while it will seem familiar to repeat visitors, it has some tweaks. Each year, we look at the feedback from attendees and exhibitors, and see what we can do to improve the conference experience.
As a result, we removed one panel and shortened the paper presentations to make day two start at a slightly less unsociable hour, with longer breaks for participants to interact more with the exhibitors and each other.
While we don’t have a dinner at same scale as last year (and Jakob promises to keep his shirt on!) we will have the first ever DVCon EU 2024 SystemC Challenge, and hope you will congratulate the winners with a drink and a canapé or two.
And don’t forget the SystemC Evolution Day that takes place the day after DVCon Europe. It’s the single most important SystemC event of the year, and this year, as we transition from stabilizing SystemC 3.0 to thinking about what-next for SystemC, Evolution will be the focus. Come along and make your voice heard!
