Bringing DVCon 2014 to Europe was not just about replicating the Silicon Valley model but tailoring it to meet the specific needs and dynamics of the European DV community.
The first editions were critical in setting up the infrastructure and establishing the conference's identity, for example we wanted keynotes from the Ecosystem. From ensuring sufficient coffee for the engineers, deciding where to place the coffee station to engaging vendors and exhibitors, food and beverages -every detail needs planned to ensure a seamless and enriching experience for the attendees.
As a co-initiator, my roles as a steering board member evolved from being a tutorial chair, keynote chair, Vice Chair, up to two times serving as General Conference Chair 2016 and 2017. Each position came with its unique set of challenges and rewards, and I devoted myself to understanding the challenges of organizing a top engineering conference.
For the keynotes I had the privilege as keynote chair inviting industry leaders and visionaries to share their insights and experiences. These sessions not only inspired attendees but also sparked important conversations and collaborations that have had a lasting impact on the DV landscape.
